Why Keshi left out Osaze and Mikel Obi from Nations qualifier

It’s no longer news that John Obi Mikel and Osaze Odemwengie have been left out of the Super Eagles squad that would face Liberia in the 1st leg of the 2013 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against the Lone Star of Liberia 8th of September in Monrovia, but what is new is the real reasons but EPL players were snubbed.

We scooped that chief coach Stephen Keshi decided to ignore Osaze after the West Brom star showed disrespect to the ‘Big Boss’ on the phone.

The story was that Osaze answered, ‘who is this’ when Keshi called him and the gaffer didn’t take it lightly, asking him if he didn’t have his number again…it largely accounted for Osas’ snub.

For Mikel, the player actually pleaded that he should be left out of the match because playing on an astro turf pitch in Monrovia would be a huge risk for him and his career.
