Onazi thrilled with Europa League win

Former Flying Eagles star Ogenyi Onazi has said he was pleased with a winning Europa League debut for Lazio against Slovenian club NK Mura 05.

Onazi was on from start to finish for the Italian giants in a 2-0 away win in Slovenia yesterday.

“It was a great day and good experience for me. I gave my best and thank God for giving us victory. I am looking forward to a better performance in the return leg,” Onazi said.

Ahmed Musa also led his Russian club CSKA to victory in the Europa League yesterday.

He was instrumental to his team’s victory in a Europa League qualifying game against AIK Stockholm of Sweden.

Musa did not score in the game, but his run down the wing was too much for the Swedish defence to curtail as he assisted Japan star Keisuke Honda to score the lone goal that gave his team victory.

CSKA will now host AIK in Moscow in a fortnight.
