Club fans hail Ideye

As Dynamo Kiev and their Nigerian striker Brown Ideye prepare for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League playoff against Borussia Monchengladbach tomorrow, the Ukrainian club fans have voted Ideye as the best player on show in the league match against Chernomorets on Saturday.

Ideye ended a two-match barren spell by scoring his ninth goal of the season and seven goals in six league matches in the 72nd minute to give Kiev a comfortable 2-0 lead over their opponents.

For that fact and his all-round display, the fans gave him the highest mark of nine out of 10.

The club's website said: "The club fans appreciated the African 'motor' in the Dynamo 'machine' that ran smoothly throughout the entire match. Added whist energetic striker and scored a goal, and did a ‘mini-flip' to celebrate his seventh goal in the championship of the Premier League.

Ideye with his goals ratio of a goal a match this season is among the nine Europe-based players that have been invited for the Super Eagles match against Liberia in the crucial first leg Africa Cup of Nations Cup qualifier in September in Monrovia.

But first, he will want to help Kiev over the finish line in the playoffs against Monchengladbach. He scored two goals in the earlier round against Dutch club, Feyenoord, which Kiev won 3-1 on aggregate.
