Team Nigeria accorded official welcome

The Team Nigeria contingent to the London 2012 Paralympics Games has been officially received at the games village in colourful ceremony by the Mayor of the Paralympics Games Village; Eve Loffler.

Also, the Chairman National Sports Commission and Minister for Sports Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi has arrived London yesterday evening.

The ceremony which was witnessed by the officials of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and Local Organising Committee of the games saw the country's flag being hoisted .

This marks the readiness and acceptance of country to participate at the games which commences today with an opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium., Stratford, East London.

The Mayor of the Village,who is also the daughter of the founder of paralympic games; Ludwig Guttmann having officially received Team Nigeria to the games village and the games proper, expressed wish to see the country do well in their events and also assured of the readiness of the Local Organising Committee to host a befitting games.

Loffler also advised the athletes to be good ambassadors of Nigeria throughout the period the games will last.
