We will bounce  back-Sunshine coach

Still smarting from the two to nothing loss they suffered in the hands of defending champions, Esperance of Tunisia in the 1st match of the group phase of the Africa Champions League in Ijebu-Ode last weekend, Gbenga Ogunbote, chief coach of the team has urged Nigerians not to write off the Akure side.

Speaking minutes after the match to Megasports crew at the Dipo Dina Stadium on Sunday, Ogunbote pledged that his boys will rise to the occasion by winning their remaining games.

“We must apologise to all Nigerians for letting them down but it’s never the end of the world because I trust my boys to bounce back in the next game. We should not be written off just like that, don’t forget it’s a league so we are still in it.”

The coach refused to blame any of the players for allowing the Tunisian side score the two goals in the first half.

“We will not play the blame game now. What we will do is go back to the drawing board, look out where we made mistakes, correct them and perform a lot better in subsequent matches.” He said.
