Osaze threatened at West Brom

Osaze Odemwengie faces a fresh threat in the Midlands as West Brom are reported to have snared Sweden international Markus Rosenberg, despite a late bid from Serie A side Pescara.

The 29-year-old star, who is a free agent after leaving Werder Bremen in July, is set for The Hawthorns according to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Rosenberg, who started his playing career at Malmö FF when he was only five years old, brought his five-season stay at Werder Bremen to a close at the end of last season and West Brom head coach Steve Clarke is thought to be keen to bring in another forward.

As speculation continues to surround the futures of Odemwingie and Shane Long, Clarke is said to be finalising his move for Rosenberg, who notched 11 goals in 34 outings last term.
