Kano Pillars vows to go for a double!

Kano Pillars are thinking of a double as the football season grinds to a halt in the next couple of weeks. The club are making sure the dream becomes a reality as they advanced to the semifinals of the Federation Cup.

The Kano club edged past Plateau United 3-2 in a Federation Cup quarterfinal in Lagos Monday.

And they are just three points behind Nigeria Premier League leaders Enugu Rangers with four rounds of matches to be played till the end of the season.

Pillars coach Baba Ganaru has declared that the chase for the double is very much on course.

“Our target like I have always said is to win the double and as you can see we are on course," a confident Ganaru said.

"We want to give Kano Pillars fans the double this season. We are already in Lagos and we don't want to leave Lagos without the cup."

Ahmed Musa has already backed his former club Pillars to win the league and cup double this season.

The Super Eagles and CSKA Moscow winger who is elated by the fine cup run of his former club, said,"I am not surprised because I know what my club can do.

"I am confident that they would get the double this season because the players are determined and I know they would do it."
