End to league  sponsorship row in sight

There is end in sight to the protracted sponsorship brouhaha that has been rocking the local game in the country for some time now as Sports minister, Bolaji Abdulahi has waded into the crisis and assured that arrangement was in top gear to settle the lingering imbroglio.

“The issue of sponsorship for the league has been one that has confronted all of us for a couple of months. What I can tell Nigerians is that we are very close to resolving the matter and we have held several meetings with all the interested parties, and I don’t think there is any logjam at the moment.

“All we need to do now is to perfect the scheduling of the sponsorship and get the fine detail right. If we did not fix it before the end of this season, by the time next season starts, the issue of league sponsorship would have been sorted out very clearly,” he promised.
