No more big boys in  the Super Eagles –Keshi

Just days after Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo blamed bad players’ attitude for Nigeria’s slide in football in the last six years and charged the present crop to rise up to the challenge by showing greater commitment to the squad, the team’s chief coach Stephen Keshi has declared that the era of ‘big boys’ and over-bloated ego are things of the past in the national team.

Speaking on Megasports Monday morning, Keshi said, “I don’t understand the meaning of big boys, there are no big boys in my team. We only have a bunch of players who want to play for the country and the country is greater than anyone. We are instilling discipline in the team and are sure it would yield results very soon.”

It is general notion in Nigeria that the Euro-based stars like John Obi Mikel, Osaze Odemwengie, Taye Taiwo and others are not at their best anytime they wear the national colours and the handlers of the Super Eagles should only call up players who are committed.
