Chukwumerije is Team Nigeria
One of Nigeria ’s
medal prospects to the London 2012 Olympic Games, Chika Chukwumerije has been
named as Team Nigeria
captain.
Breaking the news this afternoon, Tony Ubani, PRO of the
Nigeria Olympic Committee said the Beijing 2008 Olympics bronze medalist will
be assisted by the country’s latest sensation on the tracks, Blessing Okagbare!
Ubani said the two athletes were chosen because of their
leadership qualities and consistency over time, which will rub off positively
on Team Nigeria
at the London Games which starts on Friday.
Mariam Usman, the African and Commonwealth weightlifting record
holder will carry the nation’s flag in the match past!
