Team Nigeria will ruffle feathers in London 2012-NOC publicist

Barely one week to the London 2012 Olympic Games, Nigerians are apprehensive about the chances of Team Nigeria at the multi-sports event that will see the best in the world compete in twenty-eight sports but the image maker of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Tony Ubani is confident that the nation’s athlete will excel in some sports.

“I am very sure that some of our athletes will do well in London despite fears around here that it will be another shambolic performance at the Games. We will do well in three sports, 4x400 relay for women, canoeing, where Jonathan Akinyemi is one of the best in the world and D’Tigers shouldn’t be ruled out.”

Ubani who departs for London in the next two days is sure that with the training embarked upon by Team Nigeria, they should also spring surprises in some other events like the long jump for women, where Blessing Okagbare is expected to ruffle some feathers and also the 100 metres for women.
