WAR! Ashley Cole
versus Arsenal fans!
Ashley Cole joined Twitter on Sunday, and he's already used
the social networking site to have a pop at former club Arsenal.
Within 12 hours of joining the site the Chelsea defender
replied to taunts from Arsenal fans, among them Piers Morgan, by boasting about
the number of trophies he has won since leaving the Emirates for Stamford
Bridge in 2006.
Fans of the Gunners bombarded Cole's profile with abusive
tweets as soon as the England
left-back joined the site, as many of the Arsenal faithful have struggled to
forgive Cole for his move to their London
rivals.
Cole has won 11 major club trophies in his career, and he
responded to the taunts with a boast of his own.
He gloated about the fact that, while Chelsea
had won a number of competitions since 2006, Arsenal had won nothing in the
same period.
In fact Arsenal haven't lifted any silverware - of any note
- since beating Manchester United in the 2005 FA Cup Final, a fact which Cole
seemed to enjoy reminding fans of his former club.
He tweeted: 'I am what I am!!! Winnerrr!!!! Hahahahahahah,
11 to me 0 for you!!! http://yfrog.com/h7i4jsoj'
Accompanied with a photograph of him in the dressing room in
Munich after Chelsea 's
Champions League triumph in May.
He then tweeted to Morgan, who had called the defender
'Cashley' in reference to him leaving Arsenal for a pay hike at Chelsea .
Cole retorted: '@TheRealAC3 @piersmorgan Guess Whos
winning... !! pic.twitter.com/FlFL7cjM'
Accompanied with a mocked up graphic of all seven trophies
Cole had acquired whilst in Chelsea
blue.
Alongside the Arsenal crest is a sparse blue space, denoting
how many trophies the Gunners have won in the same time period.
Cole later tweeted of those he repeatedly gloated at: 'tut
tut tut, love to give it out but cant take it when the truth is told,
babies!!!! thought people on here had sense of humour!!!!!'
He also used the site to interact with football friends
Wayne Rooney, Joleon Lescott and Nigel de Jong, and tweeted a photo of Chelsea
stretching in Central Park earlier on Sunday.
