Moses’ Chelsea move nears completion

Chelsea are expected to complete a £10 million signing of Victor Moses if all goes as planned this weekend.

The Blues had a bid rejected by Wigan chairman Dave Whelan earlier this week but boss Roberto Di Matteo wants to push through a deal as soon as possible.

The London Evening Standard claims Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo wants to push through a deal to land the Wigan winger and the club are now expected to offer £7 million with add-ons, which include midfielder Josh McEachran, that will take the figure to £10 million.

It is understood that ‘The Latics’ want a large up-front sum up as they need to pay Moses’ former club, Crystal Palace, around 20 per cent of the profit.

Chelsea are also looking for a quick deal to stave off interest from their Premier League rivals Liverpool.

Moses, who is on holidays in Miami, USA, is keen to join Chelsea, who returned to pre-season training on Thursday.
