Obafemi Martins on Baggies  radar

West Brom have been told by Rubin Kazan that they will only allow loan striker target Obafemi Martins to depart on a permanent deal.

Albion's new boss Steve Clarke has been linked with a swoop for the former Newcastle United hitman, who was linked with a loan move to the Hawthorns in January 2011 when he opted to join Birmingham instead.

A switch to St Andrew's was scuppered when the Blues were relegated in summer 2011 and Martins returned to Russia to play for Rubin last term.

However, it seems they are looking to offload the player in this transfer window, which resulted in more speculation linking him with a move to the Baggies.

But with Rubin looking to recoup around £3 million for Martins' signature and the player looking for a contract worth around £40,000-a-week it could prove to be a big obstacle for Clarke to bring in his target.
