Makinwa rejects offer  from China

Stephen Makinwa has rejected a proposal from Chinese second-tier club Shenyang, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Italy's most respected voice on the transfer market and Sky Sport Italia journalist.

Makinwa's contract expired at the end of last season, and the hierarchy at Lazio did not offer him a new deal. Gianlucadimarzio.com reports that the Nigerian forward had been offered a five-month deal by the Chinese club and was expected to pocket 400,000 euros as wages.

Bolton Wanderers and Wolves, who both lost their premiership status at the end of last campaign, are reportedly on the trail of the former FC Ebedei wonder-kid.Makinwa now holds an Italian passport after spending more that 10 years in Italy.

This should count in his favour as he is no longer regarded as a foreign player and will bypass the stringent work permit rules in the United Kingdom.
