Gambia referees for Sunshine UCL game against Esperance


Gambian officials will take charge of Sunday's Africa Champions League Group A game between Nigeria's sole survivor in the competition, Sunshine Stars of Akure and defending champions Esperance Sportif  de Tunis at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode. 

The continent's football governing body, Confederation of African Football, CAF named Gassama Bakary as centre referee to be assisted by Jawo Dickory and Baldeh Salifu while Jallow Mando is the fourth official.

The Match Commissioner and the General Coordinator, Messrs Louis Laryea and Alex Asante respectively are from Ghana.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, July 8 at 3pm.

The NPL side are currently training at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City preparatory to the titanic clash.

The other Group A fixture sees ASO Chlef of Algeria and Etoile Sportif de Sahel squaring up at the Mohamed Boumezrag Stadium in Chlef on Saturday July 7 with Malian referees in charge.

Group B is made up of two Egyptian clubs Zamalek and El Ahly, Berekum Chelsea of Ghana and 2010 champions Tout Pusisant Mazembe of Congo DR.
