Rangers will win the league-Ofoedu

Rangers International of Enugu shot back to the top of the Nigeria Premier League after a massive 3-0 home win over Sunshine Stars yesterday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.

Rangers thus regained leadership of the league on account of a better goals difference than Kano Pillars as both teams are tied on 61 points from 36 matches.

The Enugu club has scored 47 goals, same as Pillars, but have conceded 24 goals as against 25 let in by their closest rivals.

Meanwhile, Chikeluba Ofoedu, one of the team’s arrow heads said it is about time other competing clubs realized that this is Rangers’ year to lift the NPL trophy after several years in the wilderness.

“I am so excited with our three-nil win over Sunshine Stars and it shows that Rangers is on course to win the league this season. We played well and showed to everyone that we are ready to win the league. We will win the league to show appreciation to our coach who has consistently showed belief in us and the management too.”

Reminded of their next game away to Lobi Stars in Katsina-Ala, Ofoedu said that his side are now unstoppable and will do everything to get a result against the Lobi side that is currently third on the log and equally contesting the league crown with them.
