Obafemi Martins may soon leave Rubin Kazan

The days of Obafemi Martins may be numbered in Rubin Kazan of Russia as the striker could be on his way out of the club due to on and off field challenges with his employers as he seeks to move his career forward

Martins who was in Lagos last week is currently facing huge frustration and challenges at Kazan.

The player started the 2012-13 pre-season with the club in top form, scoring eight goals in 13 appearances and his assist won the Russian Cup against Zenit St. Petersburg, but he is not a happy person at the moment.

His playing time at Rubin has reduced and a recent clash with a team mate has earned him demotion to the B team.

But Mitten Molegro, an Italian associate of the player has a contrary opinion insisting that Martins is being kept out of the team due to his being a foreigner.

“Why will a player like Oba play well in training and pre-season but because he is not a Russian, [Kazan] don't want to play him,” lamented Molegro. “The same thing happened to Osaze Odemwingie that's why he left the country for England.”
