Rufai wants technical director job

Former Super Eagles goalie, Peter Rufai has declared interest in the Nigeria football technical director’s position.

Dodomayana as he is fondly called by admirers says his interest in the post is hinged on the fact that he has a lot to offer the country in terms of football development.

“I am declaring interest in the position of Nigeria football technical director because I have both qualification and experience to help Nigerian football grow,” he said.

“I have been extensively involved in football development since I retired from active football. In 2001, I went back to school to acquire certificates for this purpose. I have also worked with both the Belgian and England football bodies. In the last couple of years, I have been contributing to the development of Nigerian football working with the kids.

“I want the job because I know what to do and how to do it. Football is my life. It is all I know how to do and I want to help my country in that regard. It is just a way of giving back to a society that made me”

Rufai, who holds the prestigious UEFA coaching license, is just one of many experienced and qualified ex-internationals being relegated to the background by the Nigeria Football Federation.

Sunday Oliseh and London-based Clement Temile are other UEFA-licensed coaches not given a look-in.
