Chelsea now sure of Moses deal

Chelsea are edging closer to a deal for Wigan forward Victor Moses but could pull the plug completely on Edinson Cavani and Hulk.

Roberto Di Matteo is keen to bolster his attacking options further before the transfer window closes and all three players are known to be on his wanted list.

A deal to sign Moses is almost there after Wigan drafted in Ryo Miyaichi and Arouna Kone as replacements, but the two clubs are still haggling over the fee.

Wigan want a down payment of £7million with the fee eventually rising to £10million, but Chelsea would prefer to pay less initially with more coming later in the way of add ons.

A compromise will be reached shortly but whether it is in time for the weekend when the two sides go head-to-head, remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have told Cavani he will have to lower his £150,000 a week wage demands to have any chance of a move to Stamford Bridge. Napoli also want a £35million transfer fee and Chelsea are unwilling to shell out that kind of cash on top of the player's wages so something has to give.

The same can be said of Hulk as Chelsea will not pay the £80million asking price so both deals are on the verge of collapse with the Blues threatening to switch to other targets.
