…and Ekpo fails

Nigeria’s slide at the London 2012 Olympics continued last night as the nation’s hope in the weightlifting event, Friday Ekpo failed in his quest to get into the medal zone after an impressive second position in his B group.

The 31-year-old lifted a combined total of 331kg to finish seventh overall in the 77kg category when both groups A and B were combined after the conclusion of competition in the event.
