Lazy Obuh  tongue-lashed by NFA Boss

The Nigeria Football Association is furious with Flying Eagles coach, John Obuh over the invitation of new players to the national U-20 team ahead of the African Youth Championship qualifier against Tanzania.

Just last weekend, Obuh called up more than four of the players that played at the last FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, including Kenneth Omeruo, Azeez Ajagun and Kayode Olarenwaju to the chagrin of Aminu Maigari, the NFA President who vehemently said the association would not accept the method of recycling players by the coaches of the nation’s age group teams, stating that the country has enough talented players of the age limit for the championship.

He noted that as a team in its developmental stage, the technical crew must look inward and scout players for the qualifying matches rather than fall back on those players who have played in the same age group competition about two years back.

“Must we continue to recycle these players when we know that we have plenty of them untapped?” He queried.

We wait for action on this Maigari!
