Desperate Rangers throw open gates for Sunshine match

Rangers International of Enugu are doing everything possible to break their trophy hoodoo that has spanned close to three decades by throwing the gates of the Nnamdi Azikiwe open for tomorrow’s decisive tie at home against Sunshine as they aim to regain leadership of the NPL.

Title-chasing Rangers are now third on the league table on 58 points, three points behind leaders Kano Pillars, with a game in hand.

Media Officer of the Enugu side, Forster Chime said that the management after due consultations decided to throw the gates open to attract more fans to the stadium to cheer Rangers to victory against Sunshine Stars.

“We are hoping to annex the three points from that game to reclaim our top position in the league. There will be no gate fees for the game and I hope that fans will come out in their numbers to cheer us to victory.”
