Regis happy Odemwingie stayed with West Brom

West Bromwich Albion legend Cyrille Regis is delighted seeing Osaze Odemwingie stay at the Hawthorns.

Regis feels the departure of Odemwingie would have been a huge blow.

“Albion have some top-class strikers so to lose Peter Odemwingie would have been a big loss for the club,” Regis told the Birmingham Mail

“You need four good strikers to get through a season due to injuries, loss of form, changes in formation.

“Peter is a guy who can score goals too – those aren’t easy to come by in the Premier League.

“And I’m a firm believer that if you sign a three or four-year contract then you should be expected to honour that, despite the player power we have."
