Martins’ La Liga dream hangs in a balance

Obafemi Martins’ La Liga move has been delayed until the next transfer window in January after he failed to convince his Russian club, Rubin Kazan to terminate his contract.

Martins is presently going through a bad spell at the Russian side after he was banished to the reserve team following a bust-up with the coach and the former Newcastle of England star wanted the club to free him to play for another club after the huge asking price placed on him forced away a lot of suitors.

He had earlier been stopped from a move back to the English Premier League after West Brom's outright buy attempt was scuppered by club authorities.
