Ocean Boys opt out of the NPL

Ocean Boys will not honour the remainder of their League fixtures unless they can find a benefactor to foot the cost of prosecuting the games.

The 2006 champions have two outstanding fixtures in addition to the two regular matches of the season, but General Manager Tony Ogola said that they are too broke to fund the games.

"This is a privately-owned club, and we have been doing our best to manage from Week 1, but those who run the league are not helping matters. When you spend your own money as a private individual, it is very hard to compete against clubs who receive allocation from the government every thirty days.

"So we will not play the remaining games of the season unless somebody gives us money to do so."
