We are on the right track-Keshi

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi’s rebuilding process may not have gone down well with some board members of the Nigeria Football Association but he believes the team is on the right track towards greatness after the gloom that enveloped the entire country following the squad’s inability to qualify for the last African Nations Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The former Togo and Mali tactician who has shown faith in the ability of players in the Nigeria Premier League, which has led to the discovery of talents like Ejike Uzoenyi, Gabriel Rueben, Papa Idris, Azubuike Egwuekwe and others, has consistently maintained that the future of the national team lies in the blending of both local and foreign based talents.

“I am happy with our experiment so far and we will continue to give all the players, those playing in and outside Nigeria the opportunity to showcase their talents for the good of the country. It is still work in progress and I’m sure that Nigerians will be happy with the coaching when we are done building a strong team for the country.” Keshi said.

Some board members of the NFA have been alleged to be putting pressure on Keshi to invite some Europe based players to fortify perceived leakages noticed in the squad with the gaffer standing his ground that he is on the right track.
