Mikel Obi, Osaze  still in my plans-Keshi

Super Eagles chief coach, Stephen Keshi has said that the duo of John Obi Mikel and Osaze Odemwengie will return to the Super Eagles squad when hostilities resume later this year in the Africa Nations Cup qualifier.

Speaking exclusively on Megasports, a daily sports show on Star FM, Lagos Thursday morning, the Big Boss affirmed that both players are still very relevant in the national team and would be invited for the remaining Afcon qualification matches if they maintain their form.

“I have always maintained that every good Nigerian player will be called up to play for the country. Mikel and Osaze are part of our plans, when the time comes they will be invited to join the group as we are doing everything to ensure that the team returns to glory days.” Keshi said.

The Big Boss also assured that he will soon halt fresh invitations so that he can concentrate on the players already in the fold, stressing that the major challenge now is how to make the team strong to face the tasks ahead.

“It’s time to concentrate on making the squad gel so that we can build a team all Nigerians would be proud of. Very soon we will stop the invitation of new players and focus on the guys already being used for matches.” He concluded up.
