Obodo: Police arrest three more suspects

The Delta State Police Command has arrested three more persons in connection with the kidnap of Super Eagles Star, Christian Obodo.
Those arrested are Efe Okoh, Okoh Omonkoye and Caroline Victor.
It was learnt that the confessions of the three suspects who were earlier arrested led to the fresh arrests.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Charles Muka, said the three suspects were arrested in Ovwian Aladja area of the state.
He added that the police recovered one locally-made single-barrelled gun, three catridges and other lethal weapons from the suspects.
The suspects, it was gathered, are being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Asaba.
Obodo was kidnapped in Warri, Delta State, a few weeks ago and regained his freedom more than 24 hours after in the kidnappers’captivity.
The Udinese of Italy player reportedly escaped from his abductors at Emevor in Isoko area of the state.
Meanwhile, one Mary Nenyiaba who was seized in her poultry farm along Benin/Asaba Expressway has been rescued by the police.
The victim, who was abducted on Friday, was rescued at Igbanke, Edo State.

Victor Moses' Chelsea  dream ends

Victor Moses' Chelsea dreams are up in flames as the UEFA Champions League winners have turned their attention to Bayer Leverkusen winger Andre Schurrle, after Wigan broke off talks over selling the Nigerian international.
The Blues are keen on adding at least one more winger to their squad this summer, despite the addition of Eden Hazard and Marko Marin for a combined £38 million, and manager Roberto Di Matteo has drawn up a list of four targets.
Wigan flyer Victor Moses is the priority, but Chelsea were warned off the player last week by Latics chairman Dave Whelan, who has already snubbed Di Matteo's £4 million offer.
Moses has told Wigan he is desperate to quit the DW Stadium before the start of the season, but Whelan is standing firm, blaming agent Tony Finnigan for trying to sell a player who owes everything to the club.
Finnigan adamantly rejects the claim: 'All I will say on this matter is that how did Victor Moses end up at Wigan, when he could have gone to Manchester City? Who took him to Wigan?'
The row between the two parties is set to continue this week, but Chelsea have now cooled their interest and will instead look into a deal for Leverkusen star Schurrle.

Real Madrid ace Ronaldo breaking scoring records at Euro2012

He also is currently the top scorer in this year's tournament with three goals alongside Mario Gomez, Alan Dzagoev and Mario Mandzukic - the latter two are already out of the championship.

Turkish league BETTER  than Premier League-Yobo

Everton defender Joseph Yobo rates the Turkish league as superior to the Premier League. And the Super Eagles captain is hopeful of signing permanently for Fenerbahce.

"Moving to Fenerbahce was the best thing in my career," Yobo told the Liverpool Echo.

"I joined them because I was eager to win silverware. The 2011 Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup justified that. I hope my permanent move to Fenerbahce is concluded soon."

He added: "The Turkish league is more technical than the Premier League. The Premier League is more physical and most popular in the world, but after playing for seven years in England, I think the Turkish league is of a better quality."

  • ODION IGHALO Returns To Granada For Pre-Season

  • Former Nigeria youth international Odion Ighalo has returned to Spain to start pre-season training with Granada. Spanish sports daily Marca says there is huge possibility Ighalo, who spent the last three seasons at the Andalusia club, will remain there for the forthcoming campaign.
Udinese, Ighalo's parent club, have not commented on the future of the former Lyon Oslo star. Granada want a strong squad for next season, and are keen to have Ighalo in their ranks.
Ighalo has bagged 11 goals in 55 appearances for Granada. His goals were crucial last season in the club's battle against relegation.
